Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
A year ago we had Anderson, Lanzini, Haller, Yarmo and Wilshere, plus Pellegrini of course, and were expecting great things.

In the last two playing months the order has changed radically. I'm not sure what happens with the above mentioned players next, but a decent question would be 'what does Moyes do to fit them in to the side?"

If we are looking to sign someone young with massive potential then 17 year old Icelandic attacking midfielder Isak Bergmann Johannesson would be a great signing.

Is playing very well in the Swedish league despite his age. Was the best player of the round over there last week.

Remember the name

Left back is the most essential position to cover, assuming we manage to keep hold of everyone. Would be good to shift Haller and Anderson if possible. If we can would like to see them replaced with a decent CM, and Striker.

Rice Rice and Rice , all built around him. Keeping Tomas and Bowen, and the can play all over - close to legendary status - Antonio.

Glimpses of Felipe and the skill he has, I would really love to see if Moyes can get the work rate out of him and get the best out of him. On his day he plays sublime at times.

Fullbacks definitely but I’d go all out to sign Lewis Dunk for next season, Ogbonna has been awesome but he’s 32 now. Diop needs that kind of Premier League experience alongside him.

Look at Noble, 500 games mainly fighting relegation mainly due to crap management.
I expect most players hope for more than that. I don’t mean to belittle Nobles and the Hammers achievements, but that’s kind of how it is. But yes lots of good achievements in there too.

Always difficult to know, but at least Rice says he wants to stay.
Key is to advance so Rice and team can achieve things at West Ham.

Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
Leicester sold Kante, Mahrez & Drinkwater after winning the league.

As Rodgers says they don’t need to sell and they don’t want to sell in the case of Chilwell.
We should be saying the same

Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
We could keep him like Leicester have been able to with Chillwell and their best players if we weren't fighting relegation every other season and were challenging for trophies and European places as Leicester do.

It's that simple.

I’d bet we don’t sell Rice

Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
Selling Rice for £40m would be like when we sold Rio for £18m to Leeds and then saw him go to Man U a year later for £30m.

We should take the example of Brendan Rodgers over Ben Chilwell with all this talk of Man City & Chelsea arguing over who gets him.
HE’S NOT FOR SALE. END OF STORY

Thoughts?

I sincerely fucking hope your list of overpaid and underperforming cunts is a lot shorter than that with the likes of Anderson, Wilshire, Lanzini and Yarmo fucked off

Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
I would certainly add Fornals to the list, work rate very high and has come good over recent weeks.

I think Fornals will develop into a big player for us next season.

Re: The mainstays to build next seasons side around?
Bit of speculation really but if Rice can be bought for 40mil (I think that would get him if it was offered in one lump sum) and your reaction is that it seems a low amount, that is the same reason I think it would go further - we're looking at the bottom end of the player valuation for everyone in the next transfer window.

Basically, EVERYONE is worth less now than they were before and clubs won't be so ready to offer over the odds to get their man.

I imagine a lot of Brazilian players will want to get the fuck out of Brazil.

Why do you think £40m will go further this year or that we'd let him go for that little?

I expect much less transfer activity than usual because players with families/girlfriends etc. may not want to move location because of uncertainty over COVID. So if there's fewer cheap foreigners around then prices will actually be higher, and players like Rice will be at even more of a premium as they'll be harder to replace.

Btw, would you really let Rice go for 40m?
